The cost of initial consultation is $300
The cost of a follow up consultation is $200

Dr Mowat bills patients directly and can process Medicare claims on the patient’s behalf. Please note, additional procedures including biopsies will incur additional out of pocket charges.

Dr Mowat is committed to providing open and transparent information about fees and billing and seeking informed financial consent from patients before providing healthcare services. Dr Mowat is a private billing specialist (non-bulk billing) and payment is required at the time of consultation. Payment is required in advance for all surgical procedures.

Other out of pocket costs associated with surgery

Anaesthetist / Surgical Assistant

Dr Mowat will advise you of the team involved in your care. We encourage you to contact these providers to discuss the fees associated with the anaesthetic and (if applicable) surgical assistance. The out of pocket fees will depend on the complexity and length of your case.

Hospital stay

If you have private health insurance, this may cover part, or all, of your hospital stay depending on your level of cover. We recommend you phone your health fund prior to any scheduled surgery to check that you are covered. If your procedure is not covered by private health insurance, the hospital can provide you with an estimated cost of your hospital stay.

Pathology, Radiology, Allied Health

Any pathology, radiology, allied health or pharmacy costs required as part of your surgery or hospital stay are additional costs you may incur. For pathology tests, you will be sent an account after the procedure. We cannot provide you an estimate of costs for these services.
